National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Union Ministry of Mines, joined the nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 with the central theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”

A series of awareness activities and competitions was organised across all units and regional offices to promote the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life. As part of the campaign, an Elocution Competition was held at the Corporate Office, witnessing enthusiastic participation from over 250 students representing around 70 schools and colleges from the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Pranabjyoti Nath, CVO, NALCO, outlined the various awareness activities undertaken during the week-long celebrations and appreciated the active participation and enthusiasm of employees, students, and stakeholders during the Vigilance Awareness Week. He highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in fostering ethical conduct and organisational integrity.

Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma appreciated NALCO’s contribution and said that NALCO stands as a shining example of how resources, when managed with integrity and efficiency, can drive sustainable national progress.

He lauded NALCO for optimally utilising its resources for the benefit of communities, the State of Odisha, and the nation, while reinforcing values from within. Credibility, he noted, is a premium built internally by any successful organisation. “Empowering employees fosters vigilance, and an organisation that functions with integrity, transparency, and quality naturally paves the way for profitability”, he said.

Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, in his address, emphasised that vigilance must be a continuous practice, not a periodic observance.

“Vigilance is not merely about preventing wrongdoing; it is about fostering a culture where honesty and fairness guide every action and decision,” he said. He underlined that vigilance strengthens systems, promotes ethical practices, and builds organisational credibility, thereby reinforcing stakeholder trust.

In keeping with the Vigilance Awareness Week theme, NALCO is also observing a three-month-long awareness campaign that began on August 18, 2025, to foster a culture of vigilance and ethical conduct across the organisation.
